I recently started having some problems with my rest (I bought my used bow last year with the rest already installed. The bow is a 2006, so the rest is likewise about 5 years old.) From looking here and on other forums, and after taking the rest apart, it appeared to be worn tubes and/or springs.
I found lots of folks making comments like "Trophy Ridge makes more money off their replacement kits than their rests", etc. Although the items are small and should be pretty cheap, I anticipated paying a ridiculous amount for the replacements.
After going to the Trophy Ridge website, I submitted my issue via their 'contact us' link. No one responded so after a couple of days, I re-submitted with 'second request' highlighted.
Well, Chris from Bear Archery/Trophy Ridge responded with the answer I already knew ("You need new tubes/springs"). And then he sent me some.
No cost, no bill.
I got them today and I can't wait to get home and put them on. I haven't been shooting my bow for a couple of weeks, so I am ready.
Anyway, this is just an 'anti-rant', giving props to the customer service at Bear Archery/Trophy Ridge for sending a fix to a problem that probably shouldn't have happened (although it appears to happen pretty regularly with their Drop Zone rests).
