Matt, it is so you can put the camera farther away from where you expect to see the target of the camera. It will zoom. Try it. Go to the 2X or 3X and press the button then exit the menu. look at the difference of what is in the screen display versus with what is displayed when the zoom is turned off... pretty cool. I've played around with it and I think it might come in handy this Fall when I get serious about putting them out.

I never tried that. I will have to give it a shot. I will have to try that sometime, but the protein feeder I am putting it on is 10 feet away.
Great piece of info, I knew it had to be along those lines but the manual had no info on it.
