Anyone suffer panic attacks over packing for a long trip??

    So, just askin':

Has anyone ever suffered a meltdown/ panic attack/ depressive episode over packing for a long trip?

Just had a pretty serious one over the last few days.

Trying to outfit my sisters, brothers in law and neices and nephews.
Have to pack in all food and equipment - lots of handwritten lists...

Grandkids are between the ages of 4 and 9 - kinda loud & high maintenance.

Normal? Or should I seek help...

I always forget something. I buy it when I get there.

If you don't do this very often, ie. take them on a trip, then it is probably just you being way overwhelmed with something unfamiliar. If this persists after the trip is over, then I would think differently. I have had panic attacks since I was 19. I have lived with them without medication and I have learned to deal with that kind of stuff no matter what the situation. It can be scary, but nothing that you can't overcome. Remember to breathe.

Check your bloodpressure....you may be suffering from something medically that triggers this feeling with the pressure of delivering a GOOD TIME for family?

It always turns out that I am the only one that don't have fun on trips like that. Make a list and stick with it, helps a bunch. We get too caught up in making everything perfect, that we forget to have fun. Take a break, relax and remember the purpose of the trip

Taking a trip is so you can get away from it all . Not to take it all with you .
I stressed out once trying to make sure everything was nice for her . ( Still not over that trip .) Good luck ..

I just pack what I can think of as I am leaving! If I do not pack it, I forgot it for a reason!

By the sounds of it, if your using lists to pack everyones stuff, and to try and remember everything, you may suffer from OCD which is often related to panic attacks, then onsets of depression. I know because I suffer from this! Especially on BIG trips to places, or with people I sometimes dont know, or hell even family that is "High Maintenance". Do yourself a favor, and step away from the bags, and remember you cant control everything! I always give myself a good 10 - 15 min break from whatever it is that is causing my anxieties! Always check your blood preasure, and remember to breath! Good luck! Oh and im not a doctor and they may work for some, but I say F*%K meds they only created bigger problems for me!!!! Oh and if all else fails, leave everyone behind, and take your own bag and go on vacation, you probably deserve it!

I was waiting to see who would throw me under the bus.

Makes it go smooth though doesn't it?
