The temple shot was not intended. I had that big pig standing facing me as I inched my bow into position. I was thinking through all that I needed to do to get a good shot off. Like we talked about the other day Trey, I was glad to see that I was excited. Shaking pretty good, but glad it was happening. As I got just about ready to get the bow upright and pull back, the feeder spun. This scared the wits out of both me and the boar. While it was turning, I got fully ready, hoping he would return. He did. But, he stood broadside behind the feeder legs while I was at half draw. He stepped clear and I let loose. The arrow missed the intended mark, but folded the boar like a cheap lawn chair. As he struggled to get back to his feet, I put another into his chest. It took him a long time to pass. I can only imagine how far he would have gone had he been on his feet.
We had a great time this weekend despite slow activity. After getting skunked the first two hunts, it was nice to spill some blood. First time for me to kill TWO javis in one sitting. Good thing nothing else came in, because I only had two arrows!
It was an absolute pleasure carting Casey around, and listening to all his BS all weekend. I appriciate the invite to the MMR. It's some great hunting grounds.
Nice job fellers. Casey...I told you to dust off that bow before you took it hunting! At least you got the job done. Congrats to both of ya'll Nice shootin' Matthew.
