    Submerged 4 wheeler fix

A good friends kid took his Yamaha Grizzly out and put it under water. He took it to the shop. They told him he needed a new motor 4500 dollars. He took it home instead. He changed the oil, drained the tank, put in new gas, new sparkplug, charged the battery. Fired up and is running great. Question what kind of additive can he add to the oil or gas to help his machine recuperate. Any procedures might be helpful, thanks GS

Marvel Mystery Oil. Add about 1/2 cup to the gas tank, drain the oil and refill but use 1/2 qt of Marvel in place of some of the straight oil.

Thanks I could not remember the name of the special oil. I wonder if there is a knockoff.

make sure he keeps changing the oil until it is no longer milky and he will be fine.

We had this happen a few times on our jet ski's at the races. Usually took 3-4 oil changes till the oil looked like normal. Let it run about 1 minute at idle between changes. A lot depends on how well you can get the sump drained, we had to extract through the dipstick so his results may be faster.

Be sure to drain the air breather box as well.

Sea Foam and change the oil about 5 times (the last one, change the oil filter, just clean it the other times). I would start it and let it idle for 20 seconds or so between changes to get the new oil and sea foam flow around. Clean or replace the air filter and clean the air box and check all other fluids as stated above, too.
