    O/T: PDA/Smartphones

About to upgrade my phone to a PDA/Smartphone. Can anyone help me out? I am leaning towards the Blackberry Curve. Do you have one or used one? What would you go with? The iPhone is out of the discussion.

for corporate email, or any email, i think Blackberry is the king. You can set it up to do a wireless sync it with Outlook so it automatically updates your address book, calender, etc up to date.

avoid the blackjack I am on my 4th one for warrenty exchange. The phone drops calls like crazy and the time and date will randomly change.
I used to have a Blackberry 8700 it was a great phone and email device.

Crackberry is the way to go. I have not any issues with my BB.

I use a Palm Treo 755 with Sprint and my boss uses a Palm Treo 750 with Cingular. Both of these can be sync'd with Outlook and do every thing the Blackberry does. The are a little more money than the Blackberry, but from the reports that I have read, they seem to be of a little better quality.

the treo 750 accepts sd cards (slot on top) i used mine to look at game cam picks in the field. the phone was okay and the touch screen is neat, but a little to sensitive sometimes. i retired the phone but keep it in the truck for checking my cameras. i have a blackjack now and love it. i got my employees to get them to and we have experienced no problems. great for reading this site, getting emails and surfing the web and has a good camera.

The crackberry can be synched with outlook as well. I've had 2 styles. Make sure you get one with a full "keyboard" The other ones can be frustrating especially when you're driving to the lease doin' 80........

I have the Blackberry Curve and so does my brother. Don't have any complaints with it and it is great for email but not so great surfing the net. I had the pearl (smaller version of the curve without the full keyboard) and traded it in for the curve. No regrets.

TT, is there any extras that I will need that they don't tell you about until after you have bought the phone? Any software or cables I will need?

I don't have any extras right now other than a car charger and leather skin with a plastic screen protector. I always carry my phone in my pocket so I didn't want the screen to get all scratched up to where I couldn't read it.
