Where Did the Lake Go?

I have spent quite a few evenings on the edge of Lake Houston, hoping to get some decent photographs. Here is one of my favorites from 2008, I believe:


The family and I took a quick drive over there to my spot because we have seen, as we've driven by, the lake has undergone some changes due to the drought. It's a bit bizarre what we found.






We walked a hundred yards out into the lakebed. We need some rain.

This is straight up depressing. We're headed to Sam Rayburn this weekend, I can just imagine how bad it's gotten.

Sam Rayburn is about 9 ft low. On the north end you can walk acouple hundred yards out to the creek channels in some spots.

My parents have a lake house in Westwood. The beach at the boat ramp with be interestingly huge. I'll try to remember to take pics.
