I have never had an animal live that a Spitfire has touched.

The Spitfire Pros have a replaceable cut on contact tip that seems to help actually open a larger entrance hole on angle shots.

I'm sold on them. My elk was shot at a hard quartering angle and I got full penetration. I watched the elk travel 50 yards and fall over.

I shot a buck this past weekend with he rage 3 blade and was amazed at the entry hole. The deer was quartering away. I hit him on his left side and the arrow hit the opposite side shoulder. The entry hole was **** near the size of a baseball. Arrow stayed in him until he expired, but the hole was so big that blood flowed out like nothing. Amazing blood trail.

I have had great success with the Wasp Jak-Hammer. Cuts a huge hole and is very durable.

used a spitfire on I would say 8 deer give or take one or two. None made it farther than 60 yards. That was with a bow that was a little over #70, I do not know if that would make to much or a difference considering how fast and and how much KE compounds have nowadays. I was watching Dream Season and the couple I think from Kansas was using a recurve and Rage two blades. That arrow ripped right through him, so it is strickly opinion which would be the best.

Sorry guys, I'm not a big fan of Spitfires. After hunting with Howie and chasing down a 50 lb hog with an arrow sticking out of it's rotting shoulder and seeing a Spitfire at the end of it, I was done. I brother-in-law in Wisconis don't allow hunters to use them on his ranch. And Howie won't allow them anymore, as far as I know. Some people have good luck with them. I guess if it works, it works. I bet the house that it don't leave holes like Grim Reapors:

They have the thickest blades for mechs on the market. Plus, you can also fire these from the fixed blade postion. And no o-rings are required. If I didn't shoot these, I'll use 2-blade Rage. Those things are sumting else.
