My dad called me last night to tell me that hogs have rooted out one of our feeders and actually doubled the leg over and broke it. Pop went out yesterday to check the feeders, and one was laying on the ground. Guess they bumped the leg one too many times. He said the ground under the feeder is completely shredded, and the creek about 10 yds. from the feeder is totally wallowed out.
We've never seen hogs on this place in 3 years. There's been one spot by a beaver pond where we saw tracks occasionally, but we'd never seen any. Guess all the TX rain grew us some pig meat!
I'm headed up to hunt there this weekend, so hopefully I'll have some LDP's to share when I get back. I'm hoping for at least a doe, maybe a buck (they're out there, but pretty elusive!), and now I'm hoping for HOGS!
