Biggest I have seen was between 13" and 14". Funny story though, buddy of mine had told me about him and sent me to his blind to check him out amongst other things. I had the green light to shoot a buck of my choice but he didn't tell me yes or no on the spike. Well the spike walked out under my tower and fed down the sendero to about 300 yards or so then meandered into the brush. I kept trying to raise my buddy on the walkie talkie but he didn't respond so I held off. About an hour later, I shot my best buck to date, a 9 pt. Glad he had bumped his talker and changed channels on me!

In hindsight, that spike may have won one of the contests that year...longest dang spike I have ever seen! However, I am looking at that 9 pt. right now and don't regret the decision!!!

Biggest one I have ever seen was in my neighborhood here in Georgetown. He was probably one of the oldest bucks I have ever seen on the hoof. Huge belly and sway back that wouldn't quit. His spikes were long and heavy and rolled around just the like the main beams on a nice rack...only he didn't have a single tine off either one. Surely not less than 15" in length, probably closer to 20". Pulled over on the side of the road to within maybe 15'. Only saw him once. Bout the dangest thing I ever saw in a buck.

Go to some deer contests' webiste leaderboards & look at last year's winner of the longest spike for rifle & for archery. I'd say you have a "jacket buck"
Just google these to find their websites: Los Cazadores, Freer Deer Camp, Cola Blanca, etc.
