Scopes For a SKS

I am wanting to get a new scope for my SKS and i dont know what kind to get so i was going to see if anyone had any recommendations.

since i shoot pigs at 100 yards with it at night i put a bsa 3-9 with the illuminated reticle

You get what you pay for in optics, plain and simple. More scope, more money. I can't see you shooting much past 100 yards, so a simple 4X scope is about all you need. Plus, the lower magnification makes a world of difference when your source of light is the moon. The main thing with an sks scope is the **** mount. There's a lot of junk out there, buy carefully.

First off they are fun guns to shoot.

But from what I have seen, every scope put on an SKS has been a waste. They just don't mount well, plus the guns are just not that accurate. I've seen a bunch of them shot.

I would shoot it open sight and put the money away for a Ruger Mini or Cheap AR. Just my .02. Sorry If I seem negative.

I put a true glo red dot on mine and it was dead on everytime I shot it.

Where are you going to put it? I have the Tapco stock with a piccatiny rail. I put a cheap red dot on it for plinking. The cover at the end of the receiver moves too much. There is a company that makes a base that replaces the rear sight. Look on the SKS survivor forums if you want some ideas.
