    Help needed

Ive got an older bushnell banner II 3-9x32 rifle scope that has some oily substance on the inside lens I've tried to wipe it out but the oil is on the threads and gets on the rag and then back on the lens my question for y'all is how do I get the lens cleaned is there any thing I can put on the threads and lens that wouldn't make it worse? Thanks

I don't think that will work but will give it a try it's a decent scope the oily substance is like grease they put in the threads to keep them from seizing
