    High point fire arms

Just got the ew Cabelas add and seen a Highpoint fire arm for 169.00. Does anybody have one of these guns and what do yall think. Is a 169.00 pistal worth it or just a piece?

I've heard great things about them however I've held one and I wouldn't trust my life with it.

        They're bulky, heavy and ugly.

But they have a lifetime transferable warranty and I've read numerous reviews where they go bang every time.

If it's just going to be a first pistol or weekend shooter I'd have no bias against it.

They're good guns if you want a pistol to pack out in the woods with you.I wouldn't suggest one for concealed carry type stuff though.I've fired quite a few rounds through a few different Hi-Point firearms and never seen one jam or even act like it was gonna misfire.I've put rounds through both the pistol and the carbine.Alot of people don't like them but as far as I can tell the only thing wrong with them is that they're ugly as sin.

Had one, no malfunctions ever, but only ran maybe a hundred rounds throygh it. Same as above, I wouldn't trust my life with it...that now goes to my HK's in the pistol arena.

Totally agree you get what you pay for the reason the slide is so big is because the material they use to make them is a zinc/aluminum alloy and has to have a lot of that material to withstand the pressures of the different rounds I don't trust that one bit

I know I'm gonna get trashed but, I own a Hi-point 9mm and I've had it for about a yr. and to be honset with you I have never had a problem with it. I lkie it due too the sights are alot easier to see and it fires everytime. A little on the heavy side but still a very nice gun. And for a frist time gun it has done me right. I also have a Smith & Wesson 9mm and have had to send it back twice due to the extractor has broke. And its cost about $45 to ship it both times. My little Hi-Point has more rounds through it and no problems.

THIS!! They go bang and will kill just as dead as any other 9mm. Bulky and ugly though.

I havent shot one but I liked the feel of the compact 9mm.
                            Fit my hand nice.
