    Rangers did something cool

I'm not the biggest Rangers fan. My loyalties lie elsewhere, but I read this article and thought it was a pretty cool thing for the Rangers to do for this guy. Not too often you see a franchise do something "nice" instead of for financial gain.

Georgia baseball player Johnathan Taylor, who was partially paralyzed after breaking his neck during a collision in a game against Florida State on March 6, was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 33rd round of the amateur baseball draft on Wednesday.

I heard that this morning on the radio and thought that was very cool.

ESPN did a story on him a few weeks ago, filming him going through his recovery. Seems like a great kid who was extremely talented. I hope his rehab continues to go well. He may never play again, but I'm sure a lot of people look up to this young man. Can't say enough about the Rangers front office for doing this for him. He is very deserving of this honor.

Not to hijack, but the Astros did something similar.

A player from San Jacinto College suffered a broken neck in a diving accident a month or so ago and the Astros drafted him in the 40th round.

                          Awesome gesture by both organizations.

I hope we see this kid playing ball again someday.
