    Propane Coleman Lanterns

I have 2 coleman propane lanterns that no worky. These are 5+ years old and set in shed for a long time. I put new mantles on them and tried several different bottles new and old of propane but can't get gas to flow.

Has anybody else experienced this problem?

    Is there an easy fix?

How were they stored? In a case, or just hanging around?

If just hanging around, I'd bet the inlet is clogged. You should be able to clean it with some type of solvent and a small piece of wire. Just be careful if there is a gasket. That's were I'd start.

if they were stored for that long, they prolly have some buggy bug bugs taking up residence int he flow path or stuck on the valve or all the way up the nozzle. maybe compressed air or solvent and thin wire as has been suggested

That would be my suggestion as well. I've had tiny spiders build webs around the burner which eventually collects dust and clogs the fuel tube. You can carefully clean it out with a piece of wire.

One was in a case ane the other laid out Ill try compressed air. There is 0 gas flow to the mantles.

                Thanks for the suggestions

I believe those are brass and I think you can actually take the lines down/apart easily....I would however be hesitant at first in blowing the direction of flow at first because you might make the clog worse...see if you can get it apart so as to not clog up the valve....

Be careful if you try using a solvent. Don't try to light them until you are sure ALL of the solvent has dried.
