    I AGREE, PLAY EMBEDDED VIDEO

I think it's a territorial coyote call. My red dog, who looks just like a red fox, was swimming in their direction when they started this up. The coyotes have recently been pushed to the swampy side of the lake due to development on the dry side. Your thoughts?

Sorry it's sideways. I don't have any video editing software. The louder call is just me (obviously).

I can barely hear it, but it sounds like a challenge howl to me.

Sounds like a fox to me. Google grey fox noises. Or territorial fox scream

Wow! Initially I thought fox because of the screech. And I've seen gray foxes here in addition to coyotes. The fox certainly would have been threatened by my fox like dog.

            Thanks y'all!

Definitely a coyote challenge howl. Those are easy to call in this time of the year with the same sound and follow it with some puppy distress and.........BOOM......Thud.

Yeah, they readily answered my call even though I could quite hit the high note!

What does the call mean? What were the song dogs doing when you were watching them?
