I had a incident like that w/ my father one weekend when I was home from college. Very tough to deal w/. Fortunately I had my own place to go back to. Hang in there things will get better. No way to reason w/ a drunk. My father got help and is in a great place now, and we have a great relationship. Take care of yourself and pray that he gets control of his problem. Prayers up for both of you.

I saw that you said you tried to join the Army, that would be be a good choice but even if you were qualified you probably wouldn't ship till atleast october at the earliest, you probably want something more immediate than that anyway. I recommend Job Corps, I am an Army Recruiter and have seen that program do great things for folks in a bad spot, although you already have a job and if you enjoy it then there is no reason to give that up.
I cannot give advice from personal experience in this situation, only as an observer and as someone who has observed this with his friends as well. Turn to friends that is why they are there, lean on them and God and you will make it through anything.
