    Round rock camping????

Going in July for the firefighter olympics anyone know of a good place to camp in my camper?

Any of the parks on Lake Georgetown would be a good place. Only a few miles north of Round Rock.

Not sure what accommodations you are needing. But I think there is a RV park of sorts next to the dell diamond. Play fireman during the day and watch baseball at night

Jared was right about lake Georgetown. That will probably be the nicest campground and is about a 15 minute drive from Round Rock (Cedar Breaks Park). Are you coming for the archery or for other stuff too? I can look around for a place in Round Rock if you need that. I just retired from Austin FD in Feb. Here is a link to the Lake Gerogetown website; click on Recreation on the left, then on camping ( http://www.swf-wc.usace.army.mil/georgetown/ ). Like I said, if you are needing to be closer to Round Rock, look at Cedar Breaks Park. That is probably best because it is closest to town (HEB, etc.). Let me know if you need anything else.

If nothing else try Granger lake north of Taylor. Core of engineers lake. Water and electric, no sewer. Its about 30 minutes from Round Rock. Taylor park or Wilson H Fox park are the two I know of.

I would suggest the rv site next to dell diamond if you want to stay in town. It will be very close to all the action. If you dont mind a 15m drive, Lake Georgetown Cedar Breaks or Jim Hogg Park) is very nice!

Like others have said, I would shoot for Lake Georgetown or the little RV Park next to Dell Diamond.

Last I heard Cedar Breaks was closed for RV's due to some upgrades they were doing on the electricity. Then there was a disagreement over something in the contract. You might call to make sure. If not the RV park next to Dell Diamond.

Or if check out Russell Park on Lake Georgetown they have some really nice screened in shelters that cost like 24/night. Restrooms with running water and showers are close by too. PM if you want info about them but this is where I take my family when we go "camping". It's a compromise with a city girl and a 20month old and only 5 miles from home so they can come home if they are miserable...

                        Old Settlers Assoc. RV Park

This is a very nice park. I stayed there a few times when we go watch games. I'm glad to hear your coming to Round Rock for the firefighter olympics. There are several TBH'ers at the department, dont hesitate to look us up if you need anything. See ya in July.
