I have a Winchester model 670 (economy model 70) 243 that has a 20 year old very cheap Bushnell 3X9 scope that hasn't been adjusted in 10 years (I put it on a bench just about every year.) It will shoot less than 1/2 MOA @ 100 - 300 yards with those "cheap" Remington CoreLokt bullets.

Sounds like a good deal, I wouldn't hesistate to buy it. Good shooting/hunting Sir.

1/2 in at 300 yards? Bold statement.

Good price for a rem 700. I shot a 770 last year that a hunter bought. Felt and shot like a 50 dollar gun.

I have tried one x-mark trigger and it adjusted nicely for me..think it was on a 700 sps 7-08 stainless.

I havent tried this new trigger but Remington claims it to be the best factory trigger made and is highly polished and slick as glass.

Mine was mediocre at best and couldn't get it below 4.5#.

Ill bet we are going to see some very heavy triggers from Remington after the problems they have been having about the 700 firing when the Safety is moved to fire. I think this problem is only on the older versions from what Ive read. Still dont matter, Ive never had a single issue with any 700 Ive owned.

This isn't the first time they have lied.

LOL, but hey, I sure would hate to know I had to build a safe rifle that would last a lifetime and retail for about $400. Ive owned them all and the 700 is still the best affordable rifle in its class IMO

1/2" and 1/2 MOA are 2 different things at 300 yds.

Still bold, but 2 different things. 1/2 MOA @ 300 yards would be close to 1 1/2".

Correct - 1/2 MOA at 300 yards is ~1.5" And to be clear, as I implied that is off a bench with sandbags. ...nothing bold, just need the right gun/ammo and some practice.

                        Great advice.

That's the same type rifle Sara Palin tried to shoot her Caribou with, scope got knocked off when her dad fell....(just saying)..)

Its hard to beat any Savage deer rifle for off the shelf accuracy, they win hands down. Remington is a close second, maybe.

                            It'll be the 700 ADL
I have one in a .243 good for hunting but not much else. mine shoots about 1" to 1 1/2" groups so not extremely accurate but great for hunting
On a side note the guns at the Huntsville wall mart are scratched up and you can tell they have been tossed around and not given the care they should be getting...

Didn't mean bold as in - I don't believe you...that's very doable. Impressive, espcecially with factory/factory. You need to hold on to that one!
