Hunting Lease in Cass Co. TX

I have 517 acre tract of Weyerhaeuser land that I've been hunting for about 7-8 years. It is located between Marietta and Linden, on 1399. We have deer, hogs & squirrels to hunt. Three of the members were a group of brothers that live in Dallas, and due to the economy they are unable to stay on the lease this year. The problem is that they let me know at the last minute. It has to be paid by July 1. I have 3 spots available. If anyone is interested, I'd be more than happy to show them around. Weyerhauser is going to clear cut and replant a part of it and thin another part, in the next month or so, which will only help us out because it has gotten pretty thick. I'd like to keep it at 5-6 members which comes to $620 for 5 or $520 for 6. I'm really hoping to find the members, so I can keep a nice, safe place for the family & I to hunt. If interested please either PM me or call me @ 903-278-5929.

It is, and it gets a little better every year. I just hope that I can keep it, to see if it continues to get better.

I'm not sure. What city is bivens near? I tried to look it up on MSN maps and it had 3 different locations, and they all were Bivens Branch.

Thanks brother. Another member and I may try to cover it and fill the spots before opening day, if we can't get them filled now. I know that everything happens for a reason, and it's all part of God's plan. I just really hate to lose it.

We're probably 15-20 miles west of Atlanta, TX.

What kinda guidelines are there for shooting deer and what can you shoot? Any protein being fed?

I have heard Cass County has some big deer if you let em grow and have good neighbors but they are also hard to hunt. In laws live within 40 minutes or so from there.

Any pics or scores of bucks shot in the past?

We go by the county restrictions. Last year it was 1 - 13" or greater spread, 1 cull buck (unbranched antler), and 2 does. I don't know what it scored, but the best that I've seen killed there was a 16" spread 12pt. We feed corn and mineral blocks year around. We also plant several plots, but they haven't been great the last couple of years, because of the dry weather.
