Nissan Altime A/C resets to floor

Everytime I get in my car the AC is automatically reset to blow on the floorboards. I can turn it off with it on MAX A/C blowing through the dashboard and when I return to the car and turn it back on it is on the feet.

Is this some sort of master override? Can I fix it?

I have an '07 Altima that does not do that. I don't have a clue but wonder if there is some sort of vacuum issue going on here? If it is a 2011 model, why would you not have the dealer fix it?

make sure somebody's lunch bag didn't get sucked up in there, preventing the door from closing....if not something simple like that, i am also thinking a vacuum diaphragm or some other type of solenoid that manipulates that door...

I would think so. It is still under warranty and any Nissan dealer should honor that. You may have to go through some extra red tape though, since you are not the actual owner. I would at least call a dealership up and ask how to pursue it.
