Here's an interesting snake that Mindy and I found dead on a road a couple of days ago. It's a Northern Scarlet Snake, a threatened species in Texas and the first one I've ever seen. Plus, it was found in Hunt County, which I believe is outside of it's normal range. I will be sending this one to the Texas Cooperative Wildlife Collection in College Station.
It's sad to find a beautiful and rare snake like this one dead, but at least it will be used for educational purposes.
