I dunno... But it looks like the same store I went to in San Antonio as a kid in the 60's & 70"s

If you need it... I bet they have it. Wouldn't be surprised if they were a Mathews dealer as well

Arthur was an interesting man and was passionate about Academy and what it could be. That said, he had no interest in being more than he felt it should be. He knew his customer and so did the "old guard". Some of the folks there still do, but it is a different world now than it was many years ago.

David never showed any real interest in being a part of Academy and it was always understood that as soon as Arthur was gone, David and Molly would sell the company as they are neither one the type of people it takes to run something like Academy. Are they all about the money, probably not as Arthur certainly set them up well many years ago and neither has ever wanted for anything, so I don't think that is it. I think they simply are not interested in messing with it and decided to not mess with it any more!!

Your probably right about David just not wanting to mess with it anymore. That is kind of what I mint about the money. He just wanted to sell it and get the money and be finished with it. All I know is when Arthur stepped down and let David start to run things working for them went downhill very fast.
Arthur was a great guy to work for. Always seemed very genuine and truly cared about each store. The 1st time I met him I was just an hourly "pee on" and he still remembered my name about a year later the next time I saw him. This was pretty impressive since he had so many employs and remembered my name after so long.

I'm sure their profit margins are higher now that they've gotten big enough to have in-house brands, but there's a reason "Magellan" fishing shirts are less expensive than "Columbia" and it's not just paying more for the label.

tell me about it .. I busted a game winner 440lbs scale on a 270 lbs pig !! they replaced it , but still ...
