my wifes grandma invited some local drunk to our wedding. (at her ranch)

he ended up pulling a gun because he wanted my keg when he was leaving... I wasnt around or I would have used my military training and disarmed him and beat him sensless with his gun.

but since I wasnt and I was grabbed by three family members my sized (220) and held back (when I found out shortly after by my best man)... he left with a case or two.

I know that is a little more than what you have going on but I have a short fuse in situations like that.

BUT, probably best that you just pack up wife and kids and head home.

They were invited by your MIL but that doesn't mean you have to stay and if your wife wasn't happy they were there you would definitely have the option to go home becasue then it was her Mom that ruined b-day by inviting the drunks instead of you by leaving when they showed up.

Are you trying to find a ride home
Trying to figure out everyone's prices???
But for real I would take your beer and pack it up and drink their beer instead
                    Its a win win situation
They don't get anymore and you get free beer

Anytime a drunk shows up I'm leaving. Because by the end of the night one of us is getting a hiney whippin'. And I don't want it to be me, so I'm gone. Lol.

Seems like the right answer. If I am at another person's home and I don't like the rules or the situation, I simply leave.

They can do what they want at their homes as I can do what I want at mine.

I would've bailed. Not my house means not my rules and I can stay and take it or leave. Those are my two choices. So I leave.

As much as it sucks, her house, her rules. Seems to be that way for me too.

Not your house, not your function, not your rules, not your guests.

If you dont like it, give everyone hugs and kisses and go home.
