    Build or Buy?

Is it cheaper to buy the parts and build an AR-15, or just to buy it already ready to shoot?

Depends on what you want. I built one a few years back after obama was elected. Retail prices were rediculous and they were unavailable. I had a little under $800.00 in it at the time. So it saved me a couple of hundred at the time. CMMG has bin sales where you can get a AR for around 500 or 600, but I don't know how good the quality is. If you do a build look at Brownells website they have video instructions on building an AR from the ground up.

Hard say... depends on your wants. If all you want is a nice AR with WARRANTY then buy off the shelve. You might save alittle with part. I fyour first AR I would lean towards buying one already made with warranty,

If you buy a complete rifle, you will pay 11% FET. I bought a complete upper kit, which came with everything except the stripped lower, which i then bought for $100. I think i saved 150-200 dolllars . It still cost me right af $1000, but it has good name brand parts, and I ordered it just like I wanted.
