There's no 15 to 18' gators around. I would imagine it is a big old male as the females rarley get bigger than 8'. One thing about it, there are thousands that will take its place as there are waaaay too many lizards swimming around. Sad it wasn't taken legally though!

if its 15-18ft that thing needs to be taken out of the wild and put into a zoo or something... i dunno how big that lake is.. but at least their's one less gator to worry about i guess?

Not cool, on the other hand it may not even be real.

I got a buddy, and his buddy has a friend, that friends girlfriends daughter's friend's dad heard from..... and now its an 18 foot gator.... started of as a labradoodle in the park!

should be interesting as the largest gator recorded in TX was 14' 4"
I agree but there is a mild correction there Blake. My buddy Tommy Bass has the SCI World Record killed in the Trinity River. It was 14'10.5" 880lbs

I hope that they did not kill Big Mona! If she is the one I remember, liked to sun in the third finger, she was a beauty. I guessed her for 12' 2 years ago. I almost took a gator on that trip thinking it was a huge gar, so accidents can happen. I got lucky in that I missed.

Many people poach every year with guns...
Not diagreeing with you but it's the thought process of some people. Look at handguns, some POS kills somebody over $0.50 and all hand guns are evil when it's the POS that needs to have his air tax revoked.
                  Mods-POS= piece of stuff

Last I heard from some guys today was that GATOR season is open and it possibly was taken legally not sure yet and there was a bowfishing tourney that weekend on the lake. The gator is HUGE and has been a well know fact in that area for years as being huge. Ill keep you all posted as to what I hear as I hear it. I have a friend from that area is in with TPWD and is doing what he can to find out everything about it.
