First AR Build: Parts List. Opinions Needed!

As the title states, I'm getting ready to build up my first AR.

I've compiled the parts as a list and wanted to get some opinions on what y'all thought of it. If I forgot anything PLEASE tell me. Also, if one brand is particularly great/really bad, I want to hear that too! This is by NO means the absolute final list. I'm trying to stay under about $1200 for this build. This list should be out about $1000.

    Thanks fellas!

    LOWER:

    Stripped Receiver: Spikes Punisher
    Lower Parts Kit: Spikes Standard
    Stock: Vitor iMod Basic
Receiver End Plate: Spikes Carbine Buffer Kit

    UPPER:

Upper Receiver Assembly: Rock River A4
    Bolt Carrier: Rock River
Barrel: Rock River 20" Chrom Lined in .223 Wylde

SO: What's good, what's bad, what am I missing?

if you are wanting a varmint AR...nothing!!

You need to decide on what kind of trigger...you will not be happy with the one in the lpk.

Yep I would look at a better trigger, the two stage military is not the best for hunting.

The only easy day was yesterday!

I have no issues with AR triggers. But then again I never get any triggers worked on

there is nothing wrong with a 7lb trigger pull on an AR. unless its going to be used for accuracy

couldn't agree more! I put the skeletonized Timney drop in single stage at 3 pounds in mine and that greatly improved accuracy and feel.

Thanks fellas! Good to know I'm on the right track.
Now for the next question: what kind of trigger do you like?

I shot a stock trigger accurately at 500m in the Corps and it still does fine for me now

a colt trigger is not a Spikes or RRA trigger, nor was it brand new . lots of wear and broke in!

                        Know what you're saying.

I did shoot a new one in bootcamp as we were one of the first series to get the A2. It had been in the fleet a couple of years. I have 3 Spikes lowers and still have no problem with accuracy. I may have to put a gisselle in my 6.8 to see what the hubub is about.:b

Anyone got a line on a blank stripped lower receiver, I'm thinkin I'd like to have someone (maybe chrisgunguy) do some custom engraving on the side....

Is that a single stage or two stage?

If I'm reading their site correctly, it's a 2 stage.
