Amen to that. At 4 he would watch for a while, then play his DS for a while, color for a while........ 2hrs was his limit at 4 which I thought was awesome. Normally he goes on evening hunts. 90 minutes till dark we go to the stand.
If your too hard on them they dont want to go and you might ruin them to it.

2 years of age sounds good, or at least when they are potty trained and diapers don't have to be changed in the blind.

This is what I did with my two girls and all six of my grandkids. My girls still hunt and four of the grandkids have killed deer so far.
                There never to young.

My 8 yr old's been goin' with us since he was 3yrs. old. Every deer stand has tic tac toe scribble on the walls, lil' toys in the corners, etc. He killed his 1st, deer last season, and will shoot at doves for the first time this year. Riding the 4 wheelers, and trapping rats in steel traps is really what keeps him interested!

I started taking my son with me when he turned three years old. We had a ground blind called a Taj Majal. Great for sleeping bags, food, and toys. He will turn 15 this year and has now bowhunted with me going on twelve years. Don't wait. Take your son out to enjoy the woods. Just because he may not be shooting just yet should not make a difference. He can learn much by just being around you in the wilderness.
