The last time I killed a sheet of B&C (not boone and crockett) plywood I used my trusty Magnus Stinger at twenty yards steeply quartering away.

That plywood was quartered away feeding calmly on a quart of "Thompsons water seal" and still nearly jumped the string at 28 yards. No issues though, had a complete pass through with a good splinter trail.

I'm planning a trip to Kansas to hunt Metal Drums in the fall.
