    Vortex binoculars?

I remember somebody on TBH was a Vortex dealer?

How much difference in optical quality is there between the models in the $300 and $600 price ranges?

I have a pair if Steiner Predator 8x22 which 'work' but once again I made the mistake of comparing a pair of Swarovski 10 x 42 at a 3d shoot yesterday and they were so much better- but at a $2k price tag. It was obvious looking for scoring rings on 3d targets set up under trees in the shade- it's like the ELs have a battery to illuminate the image!

I'm wondering if I can achieve 99% of that quality at a percentage of the cost if the ELs?

Arrowsmith is the dealer you are probably thinking of. And IMO they are equal to if not better than Nikon, Leopold and Lieca, at a fraction of the cost. I have never seen a negative review from anyone that has had a pair. The 8.5x42 are king daddy IMO!!

Vortex. I was a dealer for years now I just help them out setting up dealers.

      Starting

      DiamondBacks

great bino for the price was in $200 range and easily competed with other brands in $300-$400 range IMHO. Tested these years ago as a staff member and so impressed I bought the... well I became a dealer. I used them in humid east Texas, elk hunting in the snow, and NO failure. I would not hesitate to carry these anywhere. For east Texas I could still see good after legal shooting hours.

Vipers- Step up, in $500 range has won awards comparing them to $1000 binos. I use this model now. Noticeable difference in low light. I like this series because they are so light (great for elk hunting). They also give you a little cheat time on judging mature bucks in LOW light.

Razors- $800 Plus range and easily compares to my BIL's Swaro EL's.

These are heavier glass awesome clarity and extreme low light. Would put them up against any model and would not hesitate to carry them on the most expensive hunt.

Would be great also for extreme bird watchers wanting extreme clarity and control.

I have a couple pair of Vortex, and I really like them. Got them both from Arrowsmith, great guy, great prices. I have used the warranty twice, both times entirely my fault. Vortex rebuilt my binos free and and them back in my hands in about ten days both times.

I bought a pair think they are furys and used them once..hated them they were very bad in low light so I went back to my old nikons and tossed the furys in a drawer...
That being said I do have a vortex red dot on my AR that I love..

The Vortex are American made or assembled here?

For a comparison, how would the $300 Vortex 20x42 compare with the compatible price Leupold?

I borrowed a pair of Swarovski 10 42 ELs for an elk hunt, and aftet 2 days I could not get used to that weight around my chest, using the Crooked Horn Outfitters harness. Plus I was afraid of loosing/ breaking them at the price.

I don't know for sure where they make them, but when I sent them in for repair they went to Wisconsin and got completely rebuilt, not replaced.

I own a pair of the Razors. I put them side by side EL's in Mexico(before I bought them)... can you tell a difference? YES Is there a $1400 difference? HECK NO! The Razors are some good glass for sure... I lover mine! As some have said, the Razors and the EL's are pretty heavy on your chest but i'll pack the weight to see what im looking at!

                      Arrowsmith's customer service is A+

I went to a local gun shop at lunch (imagine- in Cali!) and was looking at the Leupold and high end Bushnells. None came close to the Swarovskis. I've got to find a local Vortex dealer to look through them- weird going to a bird watching store.

I love my Vortex's Bill. Best glass for the price out there. Buy as much as you can afford and you will be happy. Any of them in the mid-to upper range will compare to the Swarovs and the Leicas.
