    Question - Lab Shedding

Ok so our lab is shedding way more then he should be and is almost bald in a few places. (This is more then just blowing his coat). We gave him a bath with the furminator shampoo about 4-5 weeks ago and his hair has began falling out in hand fulls and his skin was flaking. I took him to the vet after about 2 weeks and she said it looked like an allergy and the flaking was not mange. She gave him some allergy pills and Omega 3 pills. The flaking skin is gone now but the hair is still coming out. He has never been itching or scatching more then normal. So I'm at a lose now on what it could be. Also he is on Eukanuba large breed food.

Has anyone seen this before with labs losing their hair this bad? Could it be envirnomental or his food maybe?

My girlfriend worked at a vet clinic for a while and said to try EcosiDerm. It's a liquid supplement that goes on their food. She said that it helped a lot of dogs with hair problems, some were really bad. It can take several months to grow all the way back.http://dtypetsupply.com/omega-eicosa...FYPD7QodD1eASg

Mine does that every once in awhile. The vet gave him some type of steroid and it takes care of it for several months. He though it was an alergic reaction to fleas. I don't remember the name of the steroid at the moment but could look it up if you need it. He usually gets a few spots on his belly that looks kind of like a rash when it happens.
