I had a G5 Expert II rest installed on my new bow. I got the bow tuned and zeroed in with no effort and the rest is performing great. However, when I draw back there is a noticeable "thump" when the rest flips to the up position during the draw. I had the rest installed at a pro shop and from what I've read on the internet the rest pops up at the correct time (last 1-2" of draw). It's not a loud or metallic sound but since I can hear it I'm guessing it'll definitely be noticeable to game, especially on a super still morning in close quarters. Anybody with experience with these rest have any advice on this?

The fast valley combined with my short draw length and where the rest times out at leads to a quick acceleration when the rest raises. No matter how slow I draw, it happens. There is a rubber piece on the arm and it does keep it from being loud and a metallic clink, but the thump bothers me. I'm guessing I've got to try out another rest which is a shame because this rest is a sweet shooter
I love the G5II also but on a couple bows i have to use a limb driver rest for the same reason. if you choose a limb driver make sure and adjust the yoke spring tension so that it raises the arrow but does not cause it to bounce around when it does spring up..
it's in the instruction page that comes with one on how to do it
