I think you are talking at least 9 hours with family. Waco to Wellington is 6, pushing it hard, and you have a ways to go from there. Palo Duro/Ceta/Sunday Canyons have been on fire this week and evacuated, so scratch that off the list. I would eat in Childress or Amarillo, not much on either side of them for a ways. Access on and off the interstate in W. Falls is not so good, I would blow on through there except for gas at the Loves as you come into town. K-Bobs in Childress has a really good salad bar to go with the meal, if you are so inclined.
BTW, I have an aunt and uncle that live in Lorena.
