    Wet I-Phone Help

Had my I Phone4 go to the 12' end of the pool I've already replaced it with a new one and I'm not even going to say what a new one cost or you guys will seal yours up in a bullet proof case!!!! Any ideas on getting the wet one working again, even if it's several hundred bucks it will be worth the repair. Any thoughts???

Take out the two bottom screws to take it apart and put it in a bowl covered with rice for a few days!! This does work the IT guy at work did it to his when he went swimming with it!!

A good friend of mine also experienced the "wet IPhone".

He took the battery out and covered the entire phone and battery with rice for several days and it now works again. Rice draws out the moisture

Edit: guess we were typing at the same time

              Alternative Drying Methods

There is an alternative way to save a wet cell phone that includes an alcohol soak. Alcohol is hygroscopic which means that it attracts water. Soaking your phone in denatured alcohol, or a 95% alcohol solution (regular rubbing alcohol is about 75%), soaks up all the water in the phone. When the liquid is dumped out, only alcohol, which will evaporate, remains. Make sure that the alcohol you use is denatured with only methanol as the chemicals found in other types can be damaging. This kind of alcohol can be purchased at your local hardware store. The alcohol soak may work best for phones that have been damaged by salt water or other liquids such as coffee.

Another rice recommendation. You can try seeling the dismantled phone in rice IN a ziploc bag. Remove as much air and you might have to change out rice a few times as it absorbs moisture

And one more thing about the rice; be sure it's "DRY RICE"

Think you might need a new one. I dropped mine in water for no more then one second. I did the whole rice thing and it still hasnt turned on to this day.
