    Customer Service from C&S!

A little over a year and a half ago I got a wild hair up my arse and tried to become a bow hunter. Did the rookie thing and went and bought a used bow. Having no idea what I was doing I tried to teach myself how to shoot by using youtube. Needless to say I FAILED BIG TIME. At 20 yards I couldnt hit the broad side of a barn. (yes embarrassing) I shot a total of 6 arrows and lost 4 of them. After slapping the crap out of my forearm three times I put it up and never pulled it out.

I started to be more active in the forum and started reading and asking questions. Apparently draw length is very important. My bow was a 30 and that was 2in longer then it should have been. So that left me in a situation, Should I replace the cam or buy a new one...... After seeing some members posting pics of their new Tactical z7s I knew I had to have one. Couple hints to the boss lady explaining that my bow was broke I got the ok to get one.
Monday afternoon I flew in from vacation and since I was already on the north side of Houston I made a run to C&S Archery. I had been talking to Thomas about getting one from quite some time and now I was ready to pull the trigger. When I get there we head to the range to check my draw length. I tried out 4 different cams searching for the perfect draw length. I had no idea how much a 1/2" made. With the help of Toby we decided on a 28" draw. Heres where I thought it got crazy. Thomas tells me to sling some arrows down the range. (remember I cant hit the broad side of a barn) I could only think of the abuse my old bow gave my forearm and I had fear in my eyes. Having shot only 6 arrows in my life and standing in this pretty range without a sight on the bow the only thing I could think of was "im gonna sling this arrow right out the back of this building!!". With some encouraging words from Toby and him pointing out a arrow hole directly above of me I knew at worst I would have the 2nd worst shot at C&S.
I draw back, Thomas lines me up and says let it rip. As I hit the release It was night and day from my old bow. I watch the arrow hit the target and next came the KOOLAID Smile! After shooting a couple more arrows I had the confidence I never thought I would never have. And the dang thing didnt have a sight. Walk back to the counter and Im asked what else do ya wanna shoot? Shoot? Now the correct answer would of been each of the top bows in each brand but the way that tactical shot I just had to have it. I politely declined and was again given a list of bows to shoot lol. Said no way, I want the tactical.

Now the fun part, Rigging it out.. I needed everything and had NO IDEA what to get. The guys took their time to explain EVERYTHING to me. The differences between sights, rests, stabalizers. I walked in knowing NOTHING and now Im a bow expert. (in my eyes). I ended up with a Hog Wild 3 pin sight and a Trophy Taker rest. I wanted something simple that would get the job done and I feel I picked the perfect set up for me. As for arrows I cant afford to be shooting some high dollar set up to learn with so I Picked up a dozen,of inexpensive ones and Toby was off to cut them for me.
Back to the range to sight it in, after a few minor adjustments and some more pointers all my arrows where actually in groups. Something I thought would take months of practice happened all in one day. I think I got a magic bow. Threw on a stabilizer and it improved my groups even more! Gosh I love this bow.

From the minute I walked in the shop I was treated like I was a long time customer. Not one time did I feel rushed or pushed towards upgrading to a different product. Every question was answered, even the dumb ones. It has been a LONG time since Ive had customer service like I was giving at C&S. From start to finish I was in the store for almost 3 hrs! But at the end of the day they sent me home one happy customer with a sweet *** BOW!
If any of yall guys are in the conroe area def go check them out.

Thanks again guys and sorry for keeping you past closing.

Congrats on the new rig and getting some confidence to boot! Now you just need to get to shootin and maybe do a little research on bow tuning and you'll be whacking animals in no time.

As a new Archer I really like to hear stories or reviews like this. I need to get in a good proshop but am hesitant because I don’t want to go in there looking like some dumb beginner.

We were all beginners at some point, go in and if you don't feel comfortable, leave and go somewhere else, No one knows it all and the ones that act like they do, don't need your business , And Congrats berto on the new rig

I was also worried about this. Thankfully they took the time with me and didnt just ring me up and send me out the door. I keep shooting and adjusting Till it was where I need to be.

When I decide on a stabilizer ill swap over to some broadheads and start tuning them in. I kind of wish I didnt go cheap on arrows cause ive slung 50 of them yesterday and everyone hit where It needed to be.

Thanks a ton for the words of your experience here at C&S. I always have fun helping new archers get set up and find the equipment that fits them and their budget. I hope you get one of those big Comanche bucks this year with that new bad boy toy and be sure to send us pics of it to put on the wall. If you have any questions do not hesitate to call me at anytime either here at the shop or on my cell phone and when the BOSS gets ready for a bow bring her back up here and we will get her set up also. Thanks again.

Good write-up. I'm from Missouri so I can't come down there to get a bow. I'm not new to bowhunting, but I'm thinking about getting the tactical. I have shot one and you are right, the tactical is a sweet shooting bow. I'm glad to hear that people who have them really like them, it makes my decision easierl. Thanks.

I drove down from Huntsville twice and I had to hand turn my peep. William looked at it, retied the peep, and I also said the draw length didn't feel right, He looked at it, way out of time, few minutes later, it felt like the old bow. Keep up the good work!!!!!
