Anybody in any career where networking and staying touch with old colleagues and managers etc... should have an account on the site.

Being in sales it has helped me and multiple friends, numerous times find open posistions.

Recently it seems recruiters are starting to contact you from there with job openings.

Why is that?

I'm not in the career market anymore. When I was looking to get out of non-profit management, I used it a lot to connect with others that could have been useful in my employment search. Now that I'm slotted into another career path, it's redundant.

Having said all that... have been thinking about relocating to the DFW area, so it may come in useful again. I'll keep it active just in case.

Sister said I should stay on it even though I left the corporate environment. Its has worked, been in contact with old clients/vendors.
