I bought a Weber Spirit last year to replace a 15 year old Weber. It's been a great grill and I expect to get at least 10 years out of this one. We grill at least 3 or 4 times a week.
Genesis three burner with side burner. Love it. Got it 3 years ago and went out to clean it today. It's still spotless with no rust. I got the stainless steel version. I do keep a cover on it when I'm not using it but moisture still gets to it. Took some easy off heavy duty oven cleaner to the grill and it came back shiny (although not like brand new). It cooks evenly and quickly. Can't complain. It costs more but you won't have a hunk of rust on your hands by getting the el cheapo units often seen at walmart, home depot.
Purchased mine as a scratch and dent and saved 200 bucks. Called Weber and they sent me replacement parts, So just like new. No questions asked. Told them I bought it scratched and dented.

I have a Genesis Silver A, and it's been a joy to own.
It was handed down to me from my FIL a few years back, he used it for a few seasons and wanted to upgrade to a 3 burner, so he gave me this one. I used it for several seasons, and last year I had some left over gift cards and decided to rebuild it. I called the Weber 1-800 number, and the lady walked me through everything, she was amazing. Gave me part #'s and everything.
I ordered in new stainless grates, flavorizer bars, ignitor and a few other goodies. It all went in perfectly. Even after several seasons of 2-3 times weekly use, the body is still in great shape; no warping or cracking or any other funny business.
I'd encourage anyone to spend the extra to get one, it truly is a superior product to everything else on the market.
Generally speaking the Genesis series grills offer slightly more stainless steel components than their Spirit counterparts, most of which are cosmetic (both the Genesis and Spirit grills have porcelain enamel internals). When I was in the market I couldn't justify the extra expense of the Genesis series over a Spirit, they're very comparable in performance and the price difference is largely due to appearances. I'd definitely recommend a three burner model regardless of which series you end up going with, it makes it a lot easier to control your cooking when doing a combination of direct/indirect heat. Weber makes a great product, either way you're going to end up with a grill that will provide years of reliable use.
You can't go wrong with a Weber. I have one that is over 10 yrs old, same level as the Spirit (base model I think ?) Just put a new burner and V flame guards and its like a brand new grill. ($75)
I also have a Weber Kettle on a roller cart that is an awesome charcoal pit
