    What Knot Do You Use

When you spool up a reel for the 1st time? Also layer on when you xo the line do you remove the whole spool or leave a short tag and tie new line to it? I'm a Gilligan Knot to the spool and tag line guy myself

If you asked me if I knew how to tie a knot, I would have to say im a frayed knot....unless it was a granny knot, im pretty good at those.

Something like hole in ground the rabbit comes out of hole, sees a dog runs around the tree, and back into the hole...

an arbor knot unless you putting on a super braid line, then I leave a layer of mono on the spool and tie the braid to the mono with a uni to uni knot. The braid is so stiff that it doesn't grip the spool very well, like mono. It will spin on the spool causing all kinds of problems. My favorite braid so far is power pro.

Uni to uni unless tied directly to spool. Then whatever feels good at the time. Fish gets you down to the spool the knot won't help much.

I still use mono backing set-ups on my spin tackle. For my conventionals I still tie an arbor but i put one wrap of electric tape underneath the spool for bite

so true...dropped the spools on two stradic 4000 last year with a double on BFT while trolling lures on a hump...heard then "POW" about 5 seconds apart as they dumped, it was an awesome sound regardless

Yes sir, I've never had a bass get me there but I tied into a HUGE red and he just man handled me! Nothing I could do when he got there.
