Can't get to TBH on Earthlink

Can't get to TBH on Earthlink

For some reason, my earthlink can't find TBH . I've been trying for several days with no luck . If I log into AOL, I can get here but neither of my laptops have AOL loaded on them. Is there a way to "force" earthlink to find the correct IP address?

When I go to my homepage, it's looking for 64.69.47.210

    I've tried typing in tbh.com, discussions.tbh.com/forums...
I've deleted my cache, history, cookies, etc.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks,

      Lip,

TBH.com will take you to the birdhouse company, you need to make sure that you're typing in texasbowhunter.com.

        Yes,
I'm typing it out. I've even gone to specific threads via aol and typed out the full ip for the thread and it hasn't connected.

          Lip,

64.69.47.210 is the proper address for the site ATM. Are you resolving that address when using AOL, or is it for both AOL and Earthlink? Sounds like it isn't DNS related but route related. You can bring up a command prompt (Start>Run>cmd>Entner) the type "telnet 64.96.47.210" (whithout the quotes) see where it stops and report your findings to Earthlink. Just in case it is DNS related you can also do a second test and use "telnet discussions.texasbowhunter.com".

Have you thought about using a different browser such as Firefox or Opera?

Faster page loading, less memory usage and packed with features, the new Firefox is here.

            Ed,

            Try this.
            From a dos prompt, type:
            netsh interface ip delete arpcache
            and then enter...

you should get OK as the response....then try www.texasbowhunter.com and see what happens....

if that doesn't work call me when you are sitting at the computer and we will beat it into submission.

            Shouldn't you be studying something?

...And yes, I should be studying something but if I can't peak in on the green screen ocassionally, I can't get any studying done.

My bad Lip, hitting the Evan Williams a little to heavy tonght, should be "tracert 64.96.47.210" not telnet. Either way in hindsite, it appears there is a firewall in place prevening any such command from completing successfully.

When you get a chance, email me at chris@biggamewebhosting.com and let me know your IP address. If you do not know it go to www.whatsmyip.com. The reason I am asking is that recently we tightened up security on the server. I doubt this, but I want to make sure that your IP has not automatically been banned from the server. As I said, I doubt this, as you would have to do some fun stuff to get banned, but I would like to rule this out.

My last post somehow is at the first of the thread and dated 12/31/01. Any ideas Chris? I sent an email. Do I need to resend?

Earthlink's DNS servers must be screwy. You can alter which ones you use but I am not comfortable trying to explain how to do it. Try a google search for the answer.

swapping primary, secondary, and tertiary DNS entries wont do any good because of the way DNS works. basically, if they are all under the same company, they are failing over to each other before making it to the main DNS server entries. log into Earthlink, try this and post it back here or email it to me to my acct below.

go to DOS prompt and type nslookup (enter)
                            set type=all (enter)
                            discussions.texasbowhunter.com (enter)

then copy and paste that either into an email or into a reply on here.

Just got back in from a business trip to Reno and had no problem getting on TBH. Thanks for all the advice.
