I can't find Repel Permanone anymore except in one store and they doubled the price of a six ounce can from last year to this year. I found some cans of the Sawyer Permathrine spray but it seems like all of these types of products have disappeared from the shelves. I don't know if the supply didn't keep up with the demand, or something else is going on. Any ideas?

I have no clue, but this is the likely scenario :
Last year PETA started raising public awareness that Permamone was killing innocent mosquitos. PETA brought this to the attention of animal lovers and made sizeable $$ donations to the liberal politicians in Washington.
when the Democrats controlled the house, they passed laws placing a 300% tax on Permamone with kickbacks to PETA.
sales dropped nationwide and REPEL had to let many employees go.
Realizing they were fixing to go out of business, REPEL shut down their US production factory and contracted cheap labor in Mexico after being promised tax breaks thru NAFTA
REPEL is still waiting on the tax break credits as stock value has plumeted to .25 cents per share.
REPEL has filed for bankruptcy and is another example of a proud US based company going under b/c of political B.S. and rediculous taxes.
Well, this may not be true but it sounds good

I probably need to check back at Academy next time I'm in Plano or Mc Kinney.
My wife is buying a few 9oz cans of the Sawyer Permethrin this morning just so we have something. I've used it also, and it works well.
I bought a 6oz can of Repel Permanone at Sports Authority here in Frisco before I went turkey hunting and it was over $10 a can! Fortunately, I had one full can left over from the fall.

A guy at Walmart tried to tell my wife that it had been discontinued because of some problems that soldiers had with it, but I discounted that until I was having problems finding it. I see some good deals on the internet, though, and I might buy a few more cans from those vendors, just in case.
