    snake repellant

with as dry as it is in montgomery county (and everywhere else), the snakes seem to be more on the move..
is there anything we can put out in the yard at the fencelines that will repel them?
Don't want to come home to find out my dogs picked a fight with a copperhead...
    Does cedar chips work?

We throw mothballs under the double wide at the ranch. It works.

Moth balls do work. Sulfur isn't very effective so i doubt lime would work either

Moth balls will work on rattlesnakes.

Does nothing for copperheads or moccasins. I bought the "snake away" repellent (which is crushed mothballs.)

After spending the $12.00, I read the directions.

This subject was on the radio the other day. They said moth balls work but they breakdown pretty fast. They said to put some kerosine in kitty liter and then spread it around the fence line snakes hate it.

Most snake repellents you buy in stores are ground up moth balls.
