    First Bow Hunt

My five year old, Blake has been shooting his Nuclear Ice at targets since Christmas and has been dying to shoot something. So last week we put up and ground blind and started putting out corn for rabbits around the house.

We sat in the blind yesterday about 6:30. Around 7:15, a rabbit came out perfect about 8 yds right to the corn. Blake clipped his release on his D loop and slowing stood up and drew his bow bake. I told him to take his time and sqeeze the trigger. He did everyting perfect, he let the arrow fly and it hit the rabbit right behind the shoulder and the rabbit leaped about 7 ft in the air.

I was pumped, but the blades on the broadheads never got into the rabbit. It just gave the rabbit a little poke. His bow is only set at 12 lbs and just bought some cheap broadhead (my fault). But we are going this week to add a few more lbs to the draw weight and buy him some better broadheads.

Even though he didnt get the rabbit, he was excited, but I dont think he was excited as I was.

If anyone has any suggestions on good broadheads to use around 85 grain or should just get him some rage or slick tricks?
