Wife needs help with her shooting.... And she will not listen to me!

    Hey Guys and Gals,

I have been trying to help my wife get "steady" as well as get ready for her bear hunt in two weeks.

She is hitting to the left and to the right and I cannot get her to group her shots. She moves allot and I cannot get her to calm down.

Any pointers I can give her? Anybody in the area of Meridian that can help her out with some instruction? It is always different when it comes from somebody different.....

    Thanks,
    Brad

Try to tell her to relax, other than that I'm in the same boat. Good Luck.

p.s. my wife don't listen to me either.

If you can't get her to calm down shooting a paper Target.. afraid to say two weeks probably won't be enough time to be repeat the process and be calm shooting a bear...
Heck Lisa guys tackdriving targets shake when its an animal.
You stay calm and let her practice.. don't be discouraged.

Thanks guys.... I have been trying to tell her to relax and concentrate. She gets happy when she gets close to the bullseye but when it is on the second shot, the first shot is the one that counts.

What I did nto mention is that she used to shoot good before she got sick and and she has just now been able to start shooting again.

Maybe a beer or two would help, or deep breaths

Cody gets back from boot camp and ait training might work something out with ya.
As far as advise for the misses, I dont have much except dont stand behind her, It will make her nervous, stand to the side so she can see you.

Group sizes range from 6" to 16"+.... She is shooting at 20 yards. She will group two on the left and two on the right but never four together.

Put something the size of a penny on the target and move her up to 10 yards. Once she gets confident, mover her back to 15 and then to 20. Or have her draw and aim then close her eye's and just work on the release.

Check the arrows...just in case. Number them with a sharpie and see if they are hitting consistently to one side of the bullseye. Good to see ya post again Brad.
