WGI must have some cheap solar panels or the 6 volts don't work like my 12volts on my feeders...

Correct I make my own battery packs and if they're not taking many pictures they will charge the battery up to 14v. The good solar chargers cost more but are worth it.

Where can I find the better solar chargers? I'm still trying to get my hog lights to work 24/7. dawn dusk sensor. Right now I have them off but charging and only flip the switch while I am hunting. Maybe a better solar panel is the solution.

Yes they are....we have two 6Vs on two Scoutguard cameras (1 battery each) and they are going on two years without a charge running 1500-2000 pics a month.....and more during season when the times are adjusted........

If I was a smart sum beech I'd add solar panels to the other two and quit using AAs..

They hook up directly to the Scoutguards or you had to rig it up?

Sorry I don't remember where I bought mine at it's been a few years. I did some reading on Chasinggame.com and learned my cheaper solar panels were the reason my batteries wouldn't stay charged. I'm sure you could keep those lights going but it might take a higher ampere hour rated battery and/or charger. It all depends on how much you're willing to spend.

My Scoutguards have a female plug at the bottom for an outside battery source. We made the two "pack and plugs" using a plug from Radio Shack, a 6V battery and a quality solar panel. You can see the solar panel on the roof of our game camera mounts and the homemade battery mount box screwed to the backside in this pic...

I got cut off earlier, but was gonna say I'll go change yours to add battery packs and solar panels if you build a pen around my feeder? Even swap???

                              Well I am clueless now:

I ran both of them on a 5s delay and video mode and both filled up my card and both cameras ran down to 40 % before the 2GB card was full.

My other battery pack will not even work now, so I think I messed it up with the D batteries in the camera at the same time

I now realize why for the past 2 months why my 3 battery packs would never charge above 70% with the regular wall charger. I think having the D batteries in the camera at the same time FRIED THEM!!!!

Live and learn. Just speechless as to why neither setup will work

Try charging the 6 volt batteries individually to ascertain a bad battery
