Walking catfish, first found in Florida. Amazing thing is how they surived to reach Texas having to cross both Mississippi and Alabama.

I don't know which one is true or if they both are, but I have heard about the birds; either transporting eggs on their feet theory or the eating eggs and pooping in other pond theory.

When I was a little kid, my grandpa would take us fishing in some old dynamite holes down the road. We used to catch tons of perch out of those things and I'm pretty sure they were never stocked with fish by anyone.

How about "The Lord works in mysterious ways"? I have always thought it was through the raining fish theory or eggs stuck to birds legs but after this tread, I'm in need of a new theory now...

Sippy, this is good. I didn't know this.
In the event of a hurricane, does salt water rain occur?
This is just one of the many things I wonder about.

I've got no clue how fish get in ponds short of stocking, but I do know how to take them out.

Doubt they were hardheads, golfer, unless y'all had a real high tide in the past. Not impossible but .....
Prolly baby channel cats. As to how they got there -- not sure.

probably mud cat eggs distributed from birds feet. They seem to find their way into every pond.
Build it and they will come.

a tornado, yes... a hurricane is doubtful because the winds are more of a blowing wind than a lifting wind
