    Running a 5k tomorrow!

Because of the extra motivation of Bonedigger's weight loss competition I got in a little better shape than I was this time last year. Still not where I'm going to end up but definitely an improvement. Last year I couldn't run 5 min on the treadmill at 5mph without stopping and tried the Congress Ave mile and had to walk 2x on it.

Fast forward to now, I'm on the treadmill for 20-30 minutes at 6mph+ speeds. So my coworkers and I decided to run the Schlotsky's Bun Run tomorrow morning. Should be interesting! My goal is to run the first 1.5miles without walking then walk/run the rest.

Hopefully there is some nice scenery in short running shorts in front of me to give me extra motivation!

Hang tough, Big. I usually throw a rock through somebody's window at the start for motivation.

Problem is I could easily be the biggest person out there tomorrow. Do they have a division for the 275+ runners? Why should I have to run against all those skinny people?

I'm taking a bottle of crown royal and leaving it at the finish line tomorrow. That will be my motivation to get back!

Keep up the great work.....it will get easier the more you run. I ran 5k's this morning when this time last year I couldn't without stopping to walk. Hoping to do a half marathon this year.

Way to go! My wife and daughters just did a 4k here in Wimberley today. Hopefully you'll have some fairly nice weather too.

From one big runner to another, good for you and good luck to you.

You've accomplished a lot just to be able to be there!
