Tensas Parish is in the NE corner of La bordering the Mississippi River and is very rural, thick hardwoods with good agriculture and quality management in the area (not seen much in La). Tends to grow some big deer. Supposedly this guy never bow hunted before he saw this monster coming into an area on game cams and went out and bought a bow before squirrel season (very popular in N La) would push him nocturnal. I have hunted the Tensas Federal Refugee and it is some thick area and every year people get lost in for days before found. I'm sure this was off a private lease though. Congrats to the hunter.

              That's just insane!

I spend some time in North and East La. every year, and I must say....those boys are getting their crap together when it comes to killing big deer. I always check the deer contest at the local sporting goods stores, and I've been pretty impressed. They take it pretty serious over there.

Side note, does it ever occur to anyone to take a few pictures from different angles???

Is he still in velvet? Sure looks like it.

                          Nice buck, regardless.
