    Smith & Wesson sigma .40?

I just bought a new S&W Sigma .40 and when shooting it, I am about 4 inches low at 10 yards with a full bead. I need an adjustable rear sight to correct this issue or does anyone know of another way to cure this issue? Should I send it in for repair to S&W?

No idea I do not shoot mine enough. Do you think the heavy trigger is causing you to drop the shot?

I thought it might, but my dad shot it also and it does the same with him. He has one as a service pistol and his shoots fine.

Get someone else to shoot it and see what their results are. Sounds like you could be "milking" the grip. Milking is where you pull the trigger and your other fingers sympathetically make a trigger pulling action at the same time causing your barrel to tip down. Hope that makes sense... Its hard to describe in writting.

If i raise the front sights slightly I can group real tight at ten yards. some holes hitting other holes. If I put sights inline they are consistently low and groups are tight. My dad is a police officer and shoots the same weapon on duty and it was the same with him.

Do they sell shorter front site posts?

I went to a gunsmith today and he can find any adjustable rear sights but I didn't think about front sight. I will check back with him.

Same with me... just don't shoot mine enough to give you an answer. The heavy trigger pull on these pistols may be to blame.

What ammo are you shooting in it?

                      Probably isn't the ammo....

I just looked for replacement sights. They show heights of .145, .160, and a .190. My guess is that the factory sight is the middle height .160. Brownells shows the .145 was discontinued by the factory. I did see someone say that Glock front sight would fit the Sigma. You may want to call a gunsmith and see if that is true and what it would cost to have them put one in.

All of those are front sights?

Yes. Those are the heights they come in. But factory .145 shows discontinued.
