4x8 version of The Blynd - Do You Recommend?

Hello - my brother bought a 4X8 Blynd with a 4ft ladder/base about 2 years ago. I know this isn't the most expensive stand on the market - but he has loved his, and swears that when it comes to box stands......The Blynd is all you need.

Just curious if any of you others out there have owned one - and if so how it has held up, and have you liked it, etc, etc.

I am thinking if I try to take the cheap way out for a large box stand........this might be the route I go if I want to stand under $1000.

Let me know your thoughts on this product. Thanks!

I had a 4x4 on a 10' stand for several years. It was an okay setup. I had to do some modifications / enhancements on mine.

I created some window "stops" (used long screws) to prevent windows from sliding out of the tracks due to wind. I placed these at the outer edge of each window. I also used a small eye screw, placing where the windows overlapped at the center, to lock the windows to keep them from sliding open due to the wind.

You will need to secure the door well. A good wind can blow it off and owls can get in and create a nest. Have had it happen on a few occasions and it's a real mess.

I would also recommend spaying some sort of foam insulation on the walls if you can, or possibly some thin carpeting. The primary reason - they're noisy and kind of cold in the winter time.

They are inexpensive, and very easy to take down and move with two guys. That is a big plus. Mine lasted for well over ten years. The guy I sold it too had it torn up by the wind. Happens a lot in West TX.

    Hope this helps.

I had 2 on 10' stands but I never liked them personally, the windows were way lous and its flimbsy, I was always afraid of falling alseep and faling out of the chair and going through the wall. Highly unlikely but I was always uncomfortable in them. I sold them and went to another style.

I have personally owned or purchased for a company lease well over 10 of these over the years. I really like the BLYND. They are cheap but they last forever it seems. I have never had issues with bugs in them (I think it gets to hot in the summer), and as long as you put a good latch on the door and window stops you are good to go.

If the wind blows them over they will get torqued up and some of the wood will break but that can easily be fixed.

my preference would be the texas hunter double blind over the Blynd 4x8......they just seem to be built a little better as far as affordable blinds go. I have a friend that has had a single in the field for 8 years or so and a double for 10 with very few issues. Like the Blynd comments above, you do need to do something to latch the door or the owls will get in it, and create a good tie down system because they are extremely light weight, which is not a bad thing when you go to set on up or take it down.

I gave one away cause it was HOT, even after I cut a bow window in it.

Easy to set up & relocate if needed , can be a little loud if you don't put
Carpet in them. I have 2 and have been pleased .

We have 7 of them and they are nice. Yes they are hot in the summer time but when its very cold outside they are pleasant to be in. Adding carpet to the floors makes them very quiet. Paint the inside and outside of the floor when you put them together and they will last forever.

My only complaint is I wish there was a rail or board on the inside for a better gun rest.
