Have you noticed that the lids are really hard to get off the can lately?
Seems like the last month or so I cant hardly open a can. Once I get the paper cut the lid just wont come off. At first I thought maybe it was an adhesive gone wrong mistake at the factory, but it just kept on happening can after can...

Maybe thats the new way to make us stop dipping. If you cant open it, you cant dip it.

Yes, I have noticed it starting about the time that near about the whole can became a warning label. It doesn't loosen up either. I'm thinking that for what we are paying per can, it shouldn't be that hard to open. I guess that is part of the Presidents plan to get us to quit.

I usually dip Red Seal. I got a can of Cope long cut the other day. Noticed the lid was tight as well thought it was just me. Also noticed it was very moist. Almost too moist and seemed like not as much snuff as used to be.

You may be on to something....
Used to the date on the can was when it was delivered, now it has a "sell by" date.

Maybe the extra tight lid is for freshness. It does seem to be a lot more moist than it used to be.

Might have something to do with taxes too. Not long ago they started taxing tobacco by weight. Maybe there is actually less tobacco in the can now, but with extra moisture the weight is the same?

There is less per can. When Cop was $5 a can and red seal was about $3.50 the new tax was implemented and RS went to $5 and Cop stayed at $5. At that time I wen back to Cop since it was the same price but noticed the can had plenty of space for more snuff and was only getting 3 dips per can. I quickly switched back to RS.
